Product Design Lead, Project Manager
Zotlabs is a web application for researchers to post listings of open research opportunities with certain criteria, requirements, and specifications onto a general listing platform.
Timeline: October 2024 - May 2025
Responsibilities:
Design Lead, Project Manager, Scrum Master, UI/UX Design, User Research Lead
Through Zotlabs, Students can search through the currently available job listings and apply for the research position. Additionally, they may choose to customize their profiles and attach resumes, past experiences, and portfolio links, which researchers can view when choosing which students to progress in their hiring process.
Using the platform, users will have the ability to browse through listings and profiles via search bar and various filters to best fit their needs.
Students and Researchers will be able to tailor both profiles and listings for openings in research positions. Students can submit required recruitment documents such as resumes, cover letters, etc. Researchers can post job descriptions for students to browse through and apply to.
Zotlabs offers a personalized dashboard with recent position listings, various student profiles, as well as the option to interact with these “cards” such like and save functions.
The Ubebytes Team
The Ubebytes Team consists of 12 team members all with exceptional abilities. Our design team began the process with user research, user persona creation, low-fidelity to high-fidelity prototyping, and designing visual elements. The project was then handed over to the development team, who implemented all of the working pages and features we see in the beta version.
Future Improvements
There are many more features to be implemented on ZotLabs that would greatly benefit the project’s purpose. Such as an inbox/messaging feature that allows students and researchers to connect on a more personal level. Additionally, a content manager and even an algorithm to populate the dashboard’s feed with content that would apply to the user’s qualifications.

The team worked diligently to create the Beta version of Zotlabs. The website currently offers a fully functioning dashboard with interactive listing and profile cards. An operational sign-up and login feature which allows users to also look at their own personal profile, including but not limited to keeping track of their applications, directly closing and opening listings, viewing saved positions or profiles, and more. Zotlabs was presented at FUSION Expo 2025 and won the award for Best User Experience.
